Hey there! My name is Emily May. I was born in San Antonio, Texas but was raised in the southern tip of Texas known as The Valley. I’m a newly wed to Joey Cassata and we have two adorable fur babies named Luna and Winnie.
I received my Master’s degree in Special Education (Applied Behavior Analysis) at Arizona State University. I am currently obtaining fieldwork hours from the amazing supervisors here at Wonder ABA towards becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I discovered the field of Applied Behavior Analysis in October 2023 and immediately fell in love with the opportunity to support children and families through meaningful, evidence based intervention. Since entering the field, I have developed a strong passion to help learners build communication, independence, social skills, and other meaningful life skills.
At the heart of everything I do is a strong desire to make a meaningful impact through socially significant change that improves the lives of the individuals and families I have the privilege of working with. I believe effective behavior analytic practice begins with understanding behavior before intervening, using data to guide clinical decision making, individualizing interventions to promote meaningful learning, and building collaborative, compassionate, and ethical relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
As I continue growing professionally, I am excited to expand my clinical experience, learn from the individuals and families I serve, and continue developing into the kind of behavior analyst I aspire to be.On my free time, I enjoy pretending to be a coffee barista, making fun crafts, hanging out with friends and family, going to concerts, and traveling.
